As you step into the water, the small waves seem to grasp at your ankles. A couple dozen feet away the head of a beautiful woman emerges from the water. She watches from her safe distance as you slowly walk deeper into the water. Once you are in past your waist she dives back under the water to resurface a few feet away. From this close distance you can see her long blue tail shimmering in the light that penetrates the water's surface. She reaches out a long slender hand to you and waits for you to take it.
Once you take her hand she quickly dives under the water. Her slender body helps her glide through the water quickly. You are afraid to hold her hand so tightly that you might hurt her, but are afraid to loosen your grasp for fear of losing your grip and being left behind.
It isn't long before the light isn't able to follow and you are surrounded by total darkness. The mermaid seems to know where she is going and doesn't slow down.
The water grows colder and darker the deeper you go. You can see a small glow coming from still deeper still. As you approach you notice the glow seems to be emanating from small seashells. The glow gets brighter the closer you get. Soon it is almost as bright as above the water surface.
In these cold waters swim many unique creatures. Maycel stops and looks at you.
